PHILADELPHIA, PA, UNITED STATES, August 18, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Camphor Memorial United Methodist Church is excited to announce our annual Back to School Community Day on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at 5620 Wyalusing Avenue, Philadelphia, PA. This event is open to the entire community and promises an afternoon filled with fellowship, fun, food, and festivities. Over 450 families have preregistered!

Event highlights include:
– Amazing performance by Stilt Walker Sistah Mafalda, with Brother Hakim and Drummers
– Free Pony Rides by Hand-to-Hand Farm
– DJ Steve providing intergenerational music
– Free backpacks & school supplies
– Free haircuts for children to start the year with confidence
– Voter registration station for community empowerment
– Fitness & line dancing by Victoria Mingle for health and fun
– Free face painting by Constantly Crafting Kay, bounce house, games, and giveaways
– Vendor tables featuring local merchants and community service providers
– Free hot dogs, Philly pretzels, water-ice, and beverages

Continuing its long-standing tradition of community service, Camphor Church aims to support local youth and families with resources, entertainment, and vital services just in time for the new school year. This year’s theme focuses on preparedness, wellness, civic engagement, and joy.

This year, we are proud to partner again with Mu Beta Phi National Military Fraternity, Honorable Najee Grant, AHARI, Philadelphia Laundromat Literacy program, Philadelphia Activities Fund, and the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church, who are generously supporting our efforts to make this event a success.
