Lightweight fiberglass poles offer long service life, easier installation, and durable performance.
FORTVILLE, Ind., Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Thursday Poles has announced the official launch of its EnduraPOLE™ Composite Utility Poles. The company engineered the new line of fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) poles for the demanding needs of modern electric distribution systems.
EnduraPOLE™ gives utilities an alternative to traditional wood, steel, and concrete poles for applications where long service life, grid resilience, and installation efficiency are priorities. Its fiberglass composite construction is designed to better withstand many demanding environmental conditions without the rot, corrosion, moisture damage, or biological deterioration that can affect other pole materials over time.
“Thursday Poles LLC was founded to offer utilities advanced FRP (fiberglass reinforced polymer) composite pole options, drawing on our many years of experience in composite design and manufacturing,” said Bill Khamis, CEO, Thursday Poles LLC.
“Utilities across North America are under increasing pressure to strengthen their grids while managing severe weather, wildfire exposure, aging infrastructure, and rising project costs,” said Ed Vondell, COO of Thursday Poles. “Our EnduraPOLE™ composite poles give utilities a high-performance option designed for long service life, reliability, and installation efficiency. We work directly with utility engineering and operations teams to evaluate applications, support technical reviews, and help move projects from specification through deployment.”
Key Features and Benefits of EnduraPOLE™ Composite Utility Poles:
- Long Service Life: Engineered for an anticipated service life of 80 years, if not longer, with minimal maintenance.
- Lightweight Construction: Fiberglass composite construction can significantly reduce pole weight compared with traditional materials, simplifying transportation, handling, and installation.
- Weather Resistance: Designed for utility loading conditions, including certain extreme high winds, ice, temperature extremes, and other environmental demands.
- Resistance to Rot and Corrosion: FRP construction does not rot or corrode and resists moisture damage, making the poles well suited for wetlands, coastal environments, high-humidity areas, and other challenging locations.
- Pest Resistance: Composite construction eliminates damage from woodpeckers, termites, and other biological threats.
- Fire Performance: A fire-resistant composite formulation supports use in utility applications where wildfire exposure is a concern.
- No Preservatives Required: The poles do not rely on toxic chemical preservatives to prevent biological decay, removing that consideration from long-term maintenance and asset planning.
The poles are available in a range of classes, colors and heights for distribution applications and meet or exceed NESC, ANSI, ASTM, and RUS standards.
Availability: EnduraPOLE™ Composite Utility Poles are available for order now. Thursday Poles is working with utilities and electric cooperatives on technical evaluations and applications across distribution systems.
